· Being the first point of contact for all new producer/prospective client contacts for the department as well as all clients

· Diary management

· Invoicing and ensuring all payment queries are swiftly resolved, liaising with the Finance Manager

· Updating the media portion of the agency website and social media pages

· Writing or editing press releases as required

· Maintaining and updating vital internal lists, ensuring that information is accurate and easily accessible to all

· Reading and reporting on agency scripts and books

· Writing pitches for both scripts and novels to submit to producers

· Submitting projects to producers and keeping track of their status

· Undertaking research into production companies as required

· Note-taking in meetings, pitching projects as required

· Dealing with unsolicited material, managing the submissions inbox

· Attending conferences and writers’ events

· Talent spotting (graduation showcases, theatre attendance etc)

· Liaising between the book and media departments

· Liaising with interns

· Liaising with the Office Manager on behalf of the department (when in person)

· Data entry (proficiency with Microsoft Office essential and experience of Bradbury Phillips Agency Manager desirable)

Agenting involves an unusual mixture of skills and talents and the person we are seeking will be passionate about working for writers, editorially astute, thorough at admin, meticulous with contracts, keen to master the arts of negotiation and deal structuring, an eloquent presenter of clients and their work, a good salesman, a self-starter, and someone who fits well

into an office where we work hard but enjoy ourselves a lot. They would need to be a voracious reader (of books as well as scripts) as book into film/TV is a big part of what we do. There is lots of room to grow within the role and the right person will be encouraged make their own mark on the department.

Applicants should email louisa@blakefriedmann.co.uk with a covering letter and CV by not later than Friday 21st January. We’d be looking to appoint somebody as soon as possible. Salary circa £24,000 depending on experience.
