Title: Finance and Operations Assistant
Type: Permanent Part-time
Region: United Kingdom – London
Location: Hybrid (WFH and In Office)

About the Role:
This role reports into the CEO This is a new role created to assist in all general Finance and Operations tasks. You will assist with the day-to-day bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledger transactions, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, you will assist the Operations team with any member-related finance queries and other ad-hoc tasks. You’ll work closely with the CEO who currently manages all Finance tasks, and you’ll be interacting with our members, suppliers, auditors, and the Operations team members.
Responsibilities:
Finance
• Process and issue sales and purchase invoices including expense claims
• Process monthly trade payment runs
• Monthly journaling and finance close
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Prepare and file VAT returns
• Assist in Quarterly management reporting
• Assist in the periodic distributions to members
• Assist with preparation of statutory accounts and other annual returns
Operations
• Maintenance of member records
• Assist with member queries and correspondence
• Other ad-hoc support

Personal Specification
• At least 1 year’s experience in a similar role
• Part qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) preferable
• Experience using accounting software – AX 2012 / Dynamics 365
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel /Word/ PowerPoint
• Experience liaising with third parties – customers and suppliers internationally
• Team player, able to work on own initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• Diligence, professionalism, pro-activity, and a can-do attitude

BECS was established in 1998 as a not-for-profit organisation run by performers for performers. It is the only collective management organisation (CMO) in the UK to enforce Performers’ Audio-Visual rights and to collect revenue from the compulsory collective administration of statutory rights in other countries.
