Freelance Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

Hours: Part-time freelance (approximately 1–2 days per week, negotiable)
Rate: Competitive hourly/day rate depending on experience

About Us

We are a long-established, leading UK talent agency representing some of the country’s best-known broadcasters, journalists, presenters and performers. We are looking for an organised, collaborative, detail-oriented freelance Finance Assistant to support our busy finance and operations team.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working independently but has strong communication skills, loves solving administrative puzzles and has excellent attention to detail. With experience of Tagmin and eye for finance.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the agency, ensuring invoices are raised promptly, payments are tracked across a range of industry portals and systems and supplier forms filled out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and issue daily client invoices using Tagmin.
  • Produce and maintain debtor reports.
  • Chase outstanding invoices and monitor payments.

Manage bookings, contracts and invoicing across various client portals including:

  • News UK Portal
  • BBC Artists & Contributors Portal
  • BBC Freelancer Portal

Talent & Client Administration

  • Monitor dates and diaries to ensure timely invoicing
  • Track complex projects where multiple payments require reconciliation.
  • Process PayPal transfers from Patreon accounts and reconcile within Tagmin.

Banking & Payment Administration

  • Complete supplier and client banking forms.
  • Submit payment documentation through online portals.
  • Process postal orders and banking paperwork where required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous finance, accounts or bookkeeping administration experience.
  • Experience using Tagmin (or similar talent management software).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with strong administrative skills.
  • Confident using Excel.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable chasing outstanding payments professionally.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to communicate with agents where necessary where additional information is required
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a talent agency, media company or entertainment business.
  • Familiarity with BBC, News UK or other broadcaster payment portals.
  • Bookkeeping or accounting qualification (AAT or similar).
