I have a client who was was invited to a storylining meeting (for which she was only paid travel expenses) for Hollyoaks and pitched an idea which they liked and was then asked to write it up.
We have since found out that they have used the idea without commissioning, crediting or paying the writer and are claiming that by signing an NDA to attend the conference (which does not mention anything with regards to her copyright) by implication she had agreed to the terms of their writers agreement and no payment is due.
Has anyone else come up against this issue?
