possibility of electronic remittances from the BBC

possibility of electronic remittances from the BBC

Following concern yesterday I have checked with Mark Chapman, BBC about the possibility of electronic remittances from the BBC. Here is his response:
I believe the pilot looking at electronic remittances for contributors is due to start sometime in the New Year (it can’t start until after our big systems upgrade in January).
There are only 3 or 4 volunteer agents participating in the pilot initially. How it progresses beyond the pilot will depend on the success of the pilot and how beneficial we at the BBC and the agents believe electronic remittances to be over hard copy ones.
I suspect that eventually we will move to 100% electronic but that this may take a few years to achieve. So no need to worry and nothing imminent !
Best wishes
Mark
