Just wanted to flag that we recently had an issue with a production company wanting to use the 75% over a period that included a xmas hiatus of 3 weeks.
It was 4 weeks shooting, 3 weeks hiatus and 5 weeks after the break.
They were of the understanding that they could use the 75% rule for the 9 weeks and only pay for seven even though it spanned a period of 12 weeks.
We spoke to Equity as did the production and Equity confirmed that the 75% rule doesn’t apply if the production is on hiatus.
It has to be a continuous booking of 8 weeks or more as per Clause T8 (3)
