BECS and Equity

Dear Artists’ Agents
You may be aware from recent correspondence with BECS that from this year – due to a change in legislation – Equity will take over the distribution of contractual payments from BECS.
We are monitoring the situation but have received assurances from Equity that payments will continue to be made to the agent named on the contract unless specifically advised otherwise by the artist. This is in keeping with current arrangements. Non-contractual (statutory performers’ rights payments) will continue to be administered by BECS and will be paid as per the mandate between BECS and the artist and subject to a BECS fee. Again, in keeping with current arrangements
We will put this on the agenda for the next Artists’ meeting – on Wednesday January 25th, from 1pm – 2.30 pm at Sta Annes (55 Dean Street).
