There is an increasing trend for advertising agencies/production companies to ask agents/actors to agree contracts before auditions. According to our legal team, the employer cannot tie you into a contract without offering it to you and thus you are put under no legal obligation by agreeing these documents prior to auditions.
Equity has informed the IPA that this is our position.
Our recommendation is that you don’t sign, but if you feel you have to please include a note that you ‘reserve the right to negotiate’.
