I’m finding that production companies are increasingly trying to pay a rate of 5.5 instead of a fifth of the weekly rate for any extra days directors work if they are doing 11 or 12 day fortnights. I’ve encountered this most recently with Red and Carnival. Is anyone else having the same problem and are you mostly successful in fighting for a fifth or increasingly losing the battle?
And if anyone has won this point against Carnival specifically, I’d be interested to hear.
I think it’s something we should really try and stand firm on.
