DUK Meeting this Wednesday – to Directors Agents

Hi Everyone,
If you haven’t had a chance to RSVP but are free, please do try and attend this meeting, this Wednesday:
Important Meeting for ALL Directors’ agents
3pm, WEDNESDAY 14TH OF MARCH
AT DIRECTORS UK (3rd and 4th Floor, 22 Stukeley Street,WC2B 5LR)
DUK’s Chief Executive, Andrew Chowns, will outline DUK’s plans for a significant change in the assignment and licence of directors’ rights in order to gain an improved negotiating position for directors under the UK Rights Agreement which better reflects a rapidly changing and ever more globalised industry.
Directors UK are applying to the Intellectual Property Office for authority to run an ECL (Extended Collective Licensing) scheme. This will allow DUK to licence directors’ rights (including non-members.) They can only do so if directors’ rights are assigned to DUK rather than to production companies/broadcasters. More about ECL here: https://www.directors.uk.com/news/ecl-info
This application will have an impact on all directors and their agents. DUK are currently polling their membership and receiving a strong positive response. All directors’ agents should be aware and we urge you to attend this meeting.
PMA Directors Committee
Frances Arnold, Elinor Burns, Michelle Archer and Joe Phillips
