If you have writers involved in Eastenders, you should have received an email from Dominic Treadwell-Collins announcing the demise of the Omnibus, but also stating that writers’ fees will remain the same for practical purposes. The BBC brought this issue to the Forum a few weeks ago but we weren’t able to announce it. However, we have interrogated the BBC’s offer and agreed with it, with a proviso that should further BBC3 repeats start eating into the advance, then we will be looking for some sort of other payment to replace that.
