There are two really troubling issues that have prevented me contracting with them, but which they say are now standard on all their contracts:
1) on non mainstream commissions, there would be no payment of the SUA on transfer to a “non-parent” mainstream channel (as they say it’s an acquisition), eg if Dave were the original channel, and the show then moved to ITV.
2), If they hire a UK writer for a show that ends up being primarily commissioned by a US network/cabler as a US production the UK rates would remain in place and the deal can’t go WGA.
