Netflix UK are asking for cut off from the original creator/lead writer if they don’t accept the pilot as written by them i.e. they would have the ability to take the original IP and put their own writer/creator on it and are claiming this is their standard precedent irrespective of experience/level of writer. This is a Netflix commission via a UK indie. I’m conscious Netflix don’t develop a lot of originals but if anyone has managed to get turnaround if Netflix don’t accept the pilot script of an original project, I’d really appreciate hearing from you.
