Theatre – PMA Code, Commission, Covid Variation – Hello Dolly

As you are aware, the PMA Covid variation to the PMA Code was agreed to recognise the unprecedented effect that Covid had on our industry, which meant our usual terms weren’t sufficient to cover shows postponing or cancelling due to the pandemic.

We agreed to end the code earlier this year on the basis that we understood that most shows that were postponed had now happened – but with the proviso we would revisit on a case-by-case basis.

Hello Dolly was postponed due to covid and in the spirit of the PMA code – which seeks to recognise the work the originating agent puts in to getting opportunities and offers for an actor – we believe it’s only fair that commission should go to the original agent.
