Agent’s Assistant – Comedy and Actors Departments

United Agents Ltd (UA) is one of London’s leading talent agencies encompassing the worlds of film, TV, books, theatre and comedy. We’re currently looking for a full-time Agent’s Assistant in the Comedy and Actors Departments. You will play a pivotal role in supporting an experienced Agent and managing an exciting list of writer-performers, actors, comedians, and digital talent.

This is a growing and busy office where you will be an integral member of the team. The ideal candidate would be calm and organised, with a good sense of humour, a proactive personality, and a genuine passion for talent management. A love of comedy is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

– Client Representation: assisting the agent in managing a roster of talent, including providing them with guidance, support and development advice. Submitting clients on Spotlight, pitching talent for upcoming projects and actively seeking new opportunities.

– Daily Office Administration: handling a high volume of emails and calls from clients and industry professionals e.g. casting directors, producers and commissioners. Processing contracts, invoicing and tracking payments. Building and maintaining client material, putting together showreels, updating client CV’s, script reading and reports, and other tasks to help the office run smoothly.

– Industry Networking and Events: building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, attending showcases, previews, client shows, screenings, premieres, TV records and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as required. Immersing yourself in the comedy industry and being aware of the important people.

– Industry Awareness: keeping abreast of new talent and seeking exciting new talent on behalf of the agent. Stay up to date on new projects, industry trends and casting calls.

– Diary Management: organising meetings, auditions and self-tapes on behalf of the clients. Managing agent’s and client’s day-to-day schedule.

– Live Work: assist agent in booking, invoicing and managing client’s Live work for comedy clients.

Key Qualifications and Skills  

The ideal candidate will have:
– Previous experience of working at a talent agency, casting directors’ office, a broadcaster or production company.

– Excellent communication and administrative skills.

– Very strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

– Friendly but professional manner.

– Be able to work well with other members of the department and team.

– Strong capability to multitask.

– Be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and be able to prioritise accordingly, with a sharp eye for detail.

– Trustworthy and accurate as you will be dealing with highly confidential material and client information.

– Genuine passion for the entertainment and comedy industry.
