Associate in the Film & TV Department (Below the line talent)

Echo Artists is recruiting for an Associate in the TV and Film Department.

Our ideal candidate will have existing experience in talent management as a senior assistant, but we will consider candidates in a similar role within the film and television industry.

The role requires someone who:
• Is confident and loves working with people in a busy client facing role
• Has excellent communication skills and an amazing attention to detail
• Someone who will stand up for what they think is right
• Is a good listener who wants to help nurture and protect our clients
• Is proactive and thinks ahead
• Is passionate about the team working behind the lens and guiding their careers
• Has a creative opinion and loves reading scripts
• Is good at time management and thrives in an environment where things happen quickly and continuously
• Is a confident negotiator
• Has experience with redlining contracts
• Is passionate and keen to be involved with top level film and tv narrative projects
• Understands the company’s independent aesthetic and has complimentary taste the film & tv they like to watch
• Is keen to work under the guidance an experienced agent team with a goal to progress as a fully-fledged agent with own client list.

Responsibilities Include:
• Submitting Clients for television programmes, features and documentaries
• Assisting with negotiating deals under direction of experienced agent team
• Keeping an eye out for new and developing talent
• Building long-lasting relationships with our client list; being a key point of contact with clients, speaking with them regularly and being active in client’s career development
• Project tracking and communicating with and setting up meetings with Producers and Production Companies regularly to make sure the Company and the clients are aware of what projects are happening and have happened.
• Reading scripts and making notes, developing your knowledge about whether the project would be good for the client’s career
• Watching client work and keeping up to date with the industry output
• Attending some film festivals and industry screenings such as London Film Festival
• Working with the other agents in the team to assist with their needs as may be required
• Tracking projects, production companies and works in development or about to shoot
• Being current on projects in development
• Contracts management and redlining
• Administration to action all the above

Further Details about the Position:
• To start ASAP but we are open to negotiation
• The role is office based located in the De Beauvoir Block, Dalston, East London (nearest station is Haggerston or Dalston Junction).
• Standard hours are 9:30 AM to 6 PM with 1 hour lunch break (There will be occasions in the year where hours may be longer than this to attend Festivals and screenings)
• Experience of Macs essential along with Word and Excel
• Salary commensurate with experience.
• Attendance to film festivals and screenings required
• There is a share of the profits of the company
• 5 weeks of holiday plus public holidays and the office closes over Christmas
