Senior Assistant / Associate Agent

Sayle Screen is seeking an experienced assistant to provide administrative and contractual support to two agents. Experience across contracts, accounting, plus a strong knowledge base of production companies and key movements in the industry is a must. The candidate must have exceptional organisational, time management and written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; as well as the ability to work under pressure.

Initially this role will be solely assisting the agents, allowing the candidate time to embed into the agency. Beyond this, the candidate will be considered for advancement in the agency based on performance and other criteria. Ideally there will be an opportunity for the candidate to begin growing their own client list, either by taking on new clients or co-agenting existing clients with one of the senior agents.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is committed to working in an agency, loves working with creative talent and wants the potential to further their own career. The role will require total commitment, script reading outside of office hours and a sincere investment in the clients of the agency. We are looking for someone who genuinely wants to step up to help the team and contribute to the success of the agency.

Essential Experience:
• Ideally two years of experience at a literary agency, representing writers and directors
• Comprehensive understanding of the British entertainment industry: Production Companies, Independent Film Producers, Broadcasters, Streamers and Theatres
• Knowledge of UK Film/TV/Theatre contracts, including: theatre licences, shopping agreements and writer agreements
• Knowledge of Tagmin or a similar accounting software: experience sending invoices and loading contracts and invoices onto the accounts software. The candidate must be able to liaise efficiently and clearly with clients about their payments plus be proactive in speaking to producers to solve any accounting discrepancies
• Diary management: setting meetings for agents and clients
• Office management: screening and managing phone calls, enquiries and requests; greeting visitors; general office admin
• Reading scripts and writing reports
